
About Us
Wheelhorse Web is a small dev shop and emergent marketing agency focused on technical solutions for WordPress websites. The business was founded in 2017 by Vermont-based developer Julia Wilk who was later joined by Sara (based in CT) and Siena (based in NY). Benefits of working with us include:

About You
Work consists of:
- Technical support for existing WordPress sites, including:
- Adding new functionality
- Troubleshooting and fixing errors and glitches
- Optimizing, streamlining and improving the site
- Sometimes advising, making suggestions and estimating time needed for a solution
- Sometimes following instructions to implement a solution that has already been chosen
- Researching, implementing and configuring third-party tools
- Writing CSS and HTML
- Estimated 5-15 hours per week with room to increase over time
Technical skills that would be really helpful are:
- Javascript/JQuery
- MySQL and PHP, particularly in the context of WordPress
- Knowledge of how WordPress works (you understand hooks & filters, query loops, etc.)
- Google Ads, Facebook Ads, SEO or Content Marketing
- Experience with server config, DNS, domain email setup and troubleshooting
Other helpful skills and traits are:
- Good design sense – you’ll need to have at least a basic sense of what looks good on a website
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Sales and project management skills might mean more opportunities to work together
- Excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence are highly valued
- Being located in the northeastern U.S. is a plus (though not necessary)
- Growth mindset and diverse interests are most welcome
